“Wizard of Oz”  Audition Dates Announced

Dust off your ruby slippers, it’s time to get ready for “The Wizard of Oz” our Spring show.  Show dates will be May 21-23 and 28-29 with a possible show on the 30th.   Prepare a short song, bring music, and dress for movement.  Auditions will be held at St. Andrews Church in Milford.  Dates are February 15 from 2-6pm and February 16 from 7-10pm.  Call backs will be on February 17.   Don’t forget, we always need tech if you are not interested in acting.  For more information, or to sign up for a tech position, call Linda Roll at 575-9351 or Leslie Brinkman at 228-0370.

Cold (and I mean cold) Hard Cash Earned Selling Tiles!

Our fall fundraiser was a success.  Thanks to all who helped make the tiles: Shannon Casey, Michelle Grove, Terri Wilson, The Beck family, Betty Rooms (and her grandson!) and Martha Tillson.  Thanks to Linda Roll, Betty Rooms, Terri Wilson, and Kevin Minney for freezing their behinds off selling the tiles and split the pot tickets.  We got some much needed money as well as some recognition in the community.  We will not be holding a dance in February, so everyone get ready to sell ads for the program!

ACT NEWS

The new proposed judging system was put on hold.  One of the new projects that ACT is promoting is a pamphlet that would list all ACT member theatres with pertinent information.  This pamphlet would be available to not only the individual member groups for distribution, but also to the various tourism bureaus. To cover the cost of this pamphlet, there will be a fund raiser held in February or March at Union Terminal. There will be 10 groups of 6 people each.  Each group will have to write their segment (15 minutes) in the style that they are assigned (mystery, comedy, farce, etc.) Each of the participants will pay to participate: the fee will go to pay for whatever props/costumes are needed. On the last day, the show will be performed at Union Terminal. Audience members will also pay to see this show. It is anticipated, that with good publicity, ACT can raise the amount needed to print the pamphlet.
